Vantage Mining Solutions is an Australian mining consultancy based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

We are a technically driven team with deep operational experience across underground and open pit mining, delivering practical, high-value outcomes for our clients. Our strength lies in combining strong technical capability with real-world operational understanding — ensuring advice is grounded, credible, and implementable.

We support our clients across the full mine lifecycle. Whether delivering greenfield and brownfield studies, guiding start-up and project development, providing embedded operational support, or advising on rehabilitation, closure, and tailings reprocessing opportunities, we bring the same focus: clear problem definition, disciplined execution, and outcomes that stand up in operation.

Alan is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 20 years’ experience delivering practical, high-value outcomes across water management, tailings, mine closure and environmental performance in the resources sector.

Throughout his career, Alan has held senior leadership roles within major mining organisations, including BHP, as well as global consulting positions. In these roles, he has led multidisciplinary teams, directed major due diligence and investment assurance processes, and worked directly with executive leadership teams and regulators on material risk and compliance matters.

Alan has developed a reputation for original thinking and disciplined execution in addressing complex ESG challenges. His work spans asset transactions, closure strategy development, water and tailings governance frameworks, and the delivery of technically robust, regulator-ready solutions.

Alan strengthens Vantage’s capability across the full mine lifecycle, particularly in rehabilitation, closure, and long-term stewardship of mining assets.

Senior Mining Engineer with over seven years of underground hard-rock experience, specialising in medium-term mine planning and ventilation engineering.

Experienced across technically demanding and deep-level operations, including one of Australia's deepest copper mines at over 1,900 metres, and a fast paced underground gold mine mining over 150 stopes a year — holding scheduling and ventilation roles at both operations.

Proficient in Deswik CAD, UDGB and Sched for production planning, and Ventsim for ventilation network modelling across hybrid and series systems.

Holds a Metalliferous Ventilation Officer's Certificate from SIMTARS, allowing him to practice as a statutory Ventilation Officer in Queensland.

Commercially grounded through a Bachelor of Engineering and Commerce (Mining Engineering and Finance) from the University of Queensland.
